The Wasteland Project: Mock-up of Territory

Wastelands are landscapes of destroyed information. Places where numerous chains of interactions are interrupted by silence and absence. Blind spots on the map that shapes our reality, highlighting our inaction in the face of a climate emergency.

I use these mock-ups of territory as a way to involve the local community in the recovery and protection of the biodiversity of urban wastelands. I work with recycled and discarded material with the aim of call people´s attention through outdoor interventions. At night I  use video-projections showing different members of the local community inhabiting the local ecosystem. I seek self-reflection by portraying our relationship with nature.
